Description

During the 18th century, the Old Drift House farm was used as an inn. The Turnbridge family started a wagon business and it was right here that iron was fitted on wagon wheels for the first time in South Africa.

The former inn no longer stands, but the old graveyard is still in existence and is passed on the farm track leading to the accommodation.

De Old Drift Guest Farm offers a variety of comfortable accommodation in tastefully furnished rooms. There are four spacious, air-conditioned bedrooms, each with twin beds and its own en-suite bathroom with shower. Each room is also equipped with a bar fridge. Each room has a private patio overlooking the mountain. Our family flat has two air-conditioned twin bedrooms, a bathroom and a sitting room.

De Old Drift Guest Farm also offer a self-catering family cottage. A lovely two bedroomed thatched self-catering cottage with an open plan kitchenette/dining area with en-suite shower. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes both a microwave and a conventional oven. This cottage also has its own braai facilities and a patio. Light meals and dinners can be provided by prior arrangement. De Old Drift is still a working citrus farm and guests are welcome to explore the orchards or to take a drive around on our quad bikes. For guests who wish to socialize there is a spacious thatched lapa with bar facilities where breakfasts are also taken.
